This weekend I have two photos from my El Corazón series featured in Sue Augustyn's Designer Showcase at the Home & Garden - Serving Up Style event. Her room is inspired by the stories of Hans Christian Anderson and features a gorgeous vintage window pane and curiously eclectic design elements that are right up my alley.

Here are some installation photos because I simply love the transformative process from a bare room to a completed one. See the finished room here and vote for your favorite (my pics are in the "Once upon a time..." by said interior design .

More details about the Home & Garden Show can be found here including a $2 off coupon for the event.

Shimmering at Said

There is lots of understated and sophisticated glamour at said - sue augustyn interior design. It was really a treat to see how my El Corazón photography fit into that space. Sue handled all the hanging and spread out over 20 pieces throughout her space. With an eye for fabulous color and texture combinations I was delighted to see what she came up with.

The show will be up for a few days more. If you are in the Multnomah Village be sure to stop in and check it out.

Photography Masters Cup Win

So I just got notified that Kim Campbell (that would be me) just received the award - Honor of Distinction in the Fine Art Category in 5th Annual Masters Cup Color Awards. Yippee! My photo of Calla entitled 'Muerte' was selected from over 13,000 submissions - from over 83 countries - around the globe. You can view the winners here (including mine).

The awards international Jury included captains of the industry ranging from Hasted Hunt Kraeutler in New York, Brancolini Grimaldi, David & Goliath, Simon Studer Art Associates, Stills Gallery to Christie's in London who honored Color Masters with 272 coveted title awards and 1099 nominees in 18 categories.

Love knowing that my work passed across the viewfinders of some 'captains of industry'. Sounds like my image will also be published in the bi-annual photo journal 'The Photo Paper.'

Last year I was selected as well but in the NOMINEE spot. You can see that image here.

El Corazon Photo Opening - Nov. 2nd

I have an art show coming up on November 2nd, 2011 (The Day of the Dead) in partnership with Old Portland Hardware & Architectural on SE 40th & Division. I will be displaying a collection of photographs from my award-winning El Corazón series. El Corazón (which means “the heart”) pairs child models with dreamy moments and vintage costumery to create images full of mystique, enchantment and wonder.

The Old Portland Hardware & Architectural sets the stage for something intriguing and captivating to occur. Doors will be open from 6-9 pm for this ONE NIGHT ONLY exhibition. Discover in person how photographer Kim Campbell collaborates with creative children to create images that evoke curiosity, wonder and story-telling.

There will be a temporary Day of the Dead altar that guests can add items too. There will be lots of tasty treats including Mexican pastries, wine and chocolate truffles from Portland's own Missionary Chocolates.
